Pico Race

Terms of Service

Last updated 29 July 2026

These terms cover Pico Race — the game at play.picorace.net, the installed versions of it, and the services behind them. Playing means accepting them. If you do not, the remedy is simple: do not play.

1. What you get

A licence to play the game for your own enjoyment, free of charge, on as many of your own devices as you like. That licence is personal and non-exclusive, and we can end it if you break these terms. Nothing is sold to you and nothing is owed to you.

2. Your account

3. Names

You choose a driver name and a team name, and both are shown to other players. They must not impersonate somebody else, contain slurs or harassment, advertise anything, or be chosen to mislead. We may change or clear a name that does, and will tell you when we have.

4. Racing fairly

Do not:

Records are verified, not trusted. A lap record is submitted together with the control inputs that produced it, and the physics is deterministic, so we replay it to confirm the time is real. A record that does not reproduce is rejected. We may remove any record or result we conclude was not driven honestly, and repeated attempts will cost you the account.

5. Online play

Online racing depends on servers we run and networks we do not. It may be slow, interrupted or unavailable, and we may change, suspend or withdraw it — in whole, or for one region, or for one player — without notice. Results, records and standings may be reset if a fault, an exploit or a change to the game makes them meaningless.

6. What belongs to whom

The game, its code, its artwork, its sounds, its circuits and the name “Pico Race” belong to us or to the people we licensed them from. You may record and stream your own play, including commercially — make videos, we would like that — but you may not sell the game, pass it off as your own, or use its artwork as the branding of something else.

What you type — a driver name, a team name — stays yours. By entering it you allow us to show it to other players, which is the only thing we do with it.

Circuit geometry is derived from openly licensed survey data. The two pixel typefaces are used under the SIL Open Font License; copies of those licences ship with the game.

7. Nothing here is anybody else’s

Pico Race is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any motorsport championship, promoter, team, manufacturer or sanctioning body, nor with any other game.

Circuits are named for the places they are near, because a country is not a trade mark. Every series, team, driver and car name in the game is invented. Where a real trade mark appears anywhere in our materials it is a reference to its owner and nothing more.

8. Ending it

You can stop playing at any time and ask us to delete your account — see the Privacy Policy for what that removes.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where it is fair to do so we will warn you first and tell you why; where the conduct is serious — attacking the service, harassing other players — we will not.

9. No warranty

The game is provided “as is”. We do not promise it is free of faults, that it will always be available, that your progress will never be lost, or that it is fit for any particular purpose. It is a racing game, and it is free.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost progress, records or standings, or for anything arising from the service being unavailable.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — and nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law of your own country.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. If a change matters we will update the date at the top and say so in the game before it takes effect. Carrying on playing afterwards is how you accept it.
